rant on darry curtis:
okay can we actually talk about how much darry curtis deserves?? can we talk about how he dropped everything so he could care for his younger brothers?? can we talk about how he could be a soc if he didn’t take the opportunity to raise his younger brothers?? can we talk about how tight darry hugged ponyboy after he saw him again since pony ran away and started crying?? can we talk about how he doesn’t want ponyboy to get taken away from him and get put into a boys home?? can we talk about how he is the first one everyone from the gang calls when they need help?? can we talk about how darry pressures ponyboy to do better than he did so ponyboy has a better future than him?? can we talk about how instead of fighting the socs he comforted ponyboy after pony got cut?? can we talk about how he stayed home from work & in the room with ponyboy for hours upon hours when ponyboy got sick?? can we talk about how much love he deserves but doesn’t get?? please and thanks.

Tell Dally I think it’s worth it. I’m gonna miss you guys. I’ve been thinkin’ about it, and that poem? That guy that wrote it… He meant you’re gold when you’re a kid. Like green. When you’re a kid, everything’s new. Dawn. Like the way you dig sunsets, Pony, that’s gold. Keep it that way, it’s a good way to be. I want you to ask Dally to look at one, I don’t think he’s ever seen a sunset. There’s still lots of good in the world. Tell Dally, I don’t think he knows.
